What are your intentions for the new L98, i.e. power band, total power, etc.?
Any intake product with an EO number will be accepted by the CARB.

If you cannot find a suitable EO intake on the market consider doing the siamese intake base, as this is a stealth mod that will still pass the sniffer.

TPIS, Arizona Speed and Edelbrock TPI's also have EO#s. But none of them flow like the SR for upper RPM power. But they do build excellent low and mid range and make terrific D-Drivers. They are good at the drags, but you must build everything for torque and pass on higher rpm's. My very mild 383 ran 13.35's at 104 in an '87 Pontiac F-body(200 lbs heavier than C4's), shifted at 4800 (TPIS runners and manifold). 1.85' 60's with 1800 stall/3.27: gears. And it also passed Ca smog clean as a whistle.

This is a much more sensible idea than your LT1 stroked, with a SC. For the money you were going to spend, you could have bought a ZR1.

If you have the bandwidth to handle large images, try this link
to a www.ThirdGen.Org thread.

Well down on the first page, scans of a Feb/05 Super Rod 'TPI Shootout'
article appear. The test details results of many popular intakes combos
on a 383. Further along are posts with additional graphs.

Keep in mind that an unmodified Holley Stealth Ram does not fit
underneath a stock C4 hood. Toledo Pro offers hoods with 2.5 and
4" rises. CF member JoBy is currently trying an innovative mod for
the HSR but I believe it is still too early to form any conclusions.

Besides the above, the HSR does not have EGR, either.

The HSR has no provision for EGR, the Accel/LPE Super Ram does.

Patience

He will need to program out the 9th injector cold start and add fuel for start up.
Open the runner bolt holes a little, slot the screws, have 2 sets of SR gaskets on hand(got mine from Lingenfelter-but I understand summit sells 'em), long allen with ball end(I never had to remove any rockers), don't run the throttle cable under the intake use "the right stuff" gasket aerosol ......

Personally, I've got a hip pocket fulla hope riding on Joby's efforts
to chop & channel his way to HSR nirvanna.

No need to say it, I can imagine what you might be thinking ...
