Default LT1 timing cover question

Are the '95 and '96 covers interchangable as long as you don't need the crank sensor? The reason being is that I have a spare one of each and I want to sell one. It doesn't matter to me which one as long as either will work for my purposes. And I also want to know so I can be sure of my facts for whomever I sell it to, too. Thanks.

Chris, I would surely stay with the 95 cover. Steve (Steve40th) ran into a bunch of problems using the 96 cover. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...m_id=48&arch=1 You have to worry about the reluctor ring and I also think the hub is slightly different (about the thickness of the reluctor ring I would guess).

I was upgrading from a 94 to 95 this summer during my rebuild, and I remember a post that advised me to get the 95 cover for the upgrade as someone else done the upgrade using the 96, and had some issues.
I searched for the post and cannot find it. I know this is not much help and it really does not answer your question. I just thought I would pass this information along, as you have been very helpful with advice this summer while I was doing my rebuild.

Poor ol' Steve ran into a bunch of problems at several points in his build. I hope he's got everything working well now. In this thread, which never reached a conclusion, it seems his problems were from using the entire LT4 set-up w/ the reluctor ring, which he didn't need anyway. What I'm wondering about is just using the cover itself with everything else LT1. I guess I could take some measurements to see if it's compatible with the LT1 hub relating to seal location on said hub. Inside clearance w/ the '96 cover seems to be even greater than the '95 cover in the crank gear area. It's not for my Vette, anyway. If I use it, it'll be for an LT1 in a street rod project which is only in the planning stages at this point. Like the Vette though, it would use a double roller and EWP.

Thanks for the kind words, Larry. If I indeed was of any help, I'm very glad.
