I'm looking at a set of rims that are 18 X 8.5 (front) and 19X10 (rear). The person says they will fit my '95 with "no problems" , I just want to be sure.

What pics?
I think 20's are too flashy - 19's are borderline - My car is lowered, so I was hoping they'd tuck nicely into the wells, since 18's seem to leave a bit of a void.

Provided they have the right offset (somewhere in the 52-58mm range) they should fit the back just fine. You'll want to use 295/30/19 tires on those for a good fit.

Thanks - They are 285's in the rear on 19X10" rims. When I called him, he said "they are made for a C4", I just wanted to make sure he wasn't bs'ng me.
I haven't seen many C4's with 19's - Do you have any pictures?
I have the C6 19" wheels on the back of my '89 coupe. They are 10" wide, but have a 79mm offset. I bought 1" adapters to mount them. I get mixed reviews from those that have seen the pics and even from myself.
As long as the wheels you are interested in have the same offset, you should be fine, if not, get wheel adapters.
Good luck,
Dino
I can send you some pics if you like. I am not set up to post any pics at this time.

I don't buy the "made for a C4" crap one bit... C5 and C6 rims fit a post 89 C4 without any problems....

Don't factory C6 rims have a completely different offset than ours?? One EBay seller told me his stock C6(take-off) wheels would NOT fit my '95. Maybe he just didn't like the C4.
Kind of like the guy who sells rims for houseofwheels on this forum. most of his rims fit C4's, but you don't see him advertising "down here". Look in C5 parts for sale and he's got 20 ads running - Why??
what makes no sence to me is that the C5 rim will fit the C4 just fine.
I suspect our vendor simply does not deal with C4s enough to know what fits what...
What's sad, is I asked him "Why, when most of your rims fit a C4 do you not advertise in the C4 area?". He avoided the question completely and simply gave me a price.
About the 'C6/C5 vendors are snobs' train of thought, I don't see much
promotion for earlier generation parts (C1-C3) here, either.
I do not know what the CF rates are but I imagine that some sort of
structure exists that may or may not span 'Vette generations.
If I am on the right track then maybe it is just plain economics.
Advertising dollars are a scarce resource and every vendor wants to
allocate these resources where they'll bring the greatest return.
Another thought is that there are enough issues with serving your
main market, no sense trying to be on top of the oddities that crop
up when cross-dressing with other generations. This can seriously
impact customer satisfaction and thus your overall reputation.
The C4 is no longer the "thing" so it's another used car...
I understand what you're saying, but in a business sense, it makes no sense. If his parts are interchangeable between C4-C6 why NOT come into our 'area' and post the deals? Why limit them to the C5/C6 sections of the forum? Would it cost him any more to run the same ads in the C4 section?? That would be the only thing I could see that would keep him out of here.
