I got a 93 and I have bought a 95 opti and timing cover. The electrical connection on the 93 are not the same on the 95/96 optic box. What have you guys done with that? for those who has done the conversion already please share some information.
Bruce, you'll need to get a 95/96 opti wire harness.

Thanks for the part# and contact. I will give them a call some time. I am doing the conversion because I am doing the cloye double chain conversion.
The order and/or color of the wires in each harness should be the same, but you need a matching set (1 male, 1 female) of 4 pronged plug ends. I luckily had access to a GM style 'Weatherpack' crimping tool and the OE style connectors and wire ends when I did my '92. You might try a GM dealer, or an electrical supply store for these items. The connectors and ends are not very expensive, but the specific crimping tool is around $100 (or more). This would be the nicer, cleaner way of doing the conversion. You could probably individually connect the 4 wires with the usual wiring supplies if need be.
As stated above you need the newer harness. On mine, the plug was the same except there was a little bump out on the plug that my orig. did not have. So I used my dremel tool and ground it down. Fit fine after that. By the way, Sam Taylor sells a complete conversion kit, ie, harness, opti, timing cover, vacuum port, and gaskets in a kit. At the time I did mine, they had the best price I could find.
