Torque Converter

Does anyone have any advice on which torque converter I should use. I have a 84 and want to get a more on my low end. What do you guys recommend I should use?

If your 84 still has it's origional trans, you probably have a 27 spline convertor. This limits the aftermarket selection.

2 year warranty and free stall up grade.

"Probably" is correct. The change from 27 splines to 30 splines came during 1984 production. Most 1984s have 27, and some 1984s have 30, spline transmission input shafts. Julian date 84107 was the first day of transmission production with 30 splines. The transmission will also have the letter "T" stamped on the pan rail following the trans ID number.

I have a 2600 rpm stall, Vigilanti converter in my '84. Combined with an overhaul and complete beefing of the trans, it cut approx six tenths off my 1/4 mile times.
