You guys are nuts. Some of my favorite Corvette moments were during opti replacements. I'll miss those...like the time my motor caught on fire and we put it out with Bud-lite. sigh...the laughs never stop with an opti-swap.

Okay, I just gotta ask this, Scary: How in the heck did you guys set the motor on fire during an Opti swap?
And hats-off to ya for the quick thinking on the Bud-Lite extinguisher.
Did you just slosh it on there, or shake it up real good for that real-fire-bottle-like spray action?

Just one more good reason to always have beer in the shop!
I was trying to isolate the problem as spark or fuel...
My lovely assistants were spraying ether into the intake, and once the car was running they kept spraying to verify if spark was cutting out. Lots of ether, and as it turned out, lots of spark equalled lots of fire.
Luckily the guy spraying the starter fluid never put his beer down, it was still in his left hand. Luckily it wasn't Vodka, then we'd have been in trouble. I'd better go make sure that I still have fire insurance on my car...
