No matter how hard you work to "fix" that gauge, until you break something in the process, it is going to continue to read correctly. C4s run warm and your gauge doesn't indicate anything too unusual. What dave_85 is trying to say, is that the C4s are famous for sucking up garbage off the road and packing it in, in between the A/C condenser and the radiator. Pull the upper air baffle off the top of your radiator and clean out between the two. Make sure your cooling system has been serviced properly and within a reasonable time interval. Otherwise, your temp readings are pretty normal.
If you don't particularly like to run temperature that high, it's a simple fix to wire in a manual override switch so you can turn the fans on manually when you want to.

Or, you can reprogram your ECM to alter the fan on/off settings, so that they do whatever you want them to do automatically. I did this, and am very happy with the changes.
Congrats on your new Vette. Here's hoping you enjoy it for all it's worth.

Also make sure that all of the air has been burped out of the system. When the engine is cold remove the cap from the top expansion tank and fill with coolant. The run the car with the cap off. As the coolant circulates the level in the expansion tank will go down. Continue adding coolant until the tank remains full, then add coolant to the bottom overflow tank filling it to the "hot" level. Replace the cap, shut off the engine and let it cool down, then check the level again.
