At WOT, i was bump shifting my 4 spd automatic, the gas was to the gorund but when i shifted, it wouldnt shift, instead the rpms kept climbing up to 6000 and some what past, then finally shifted. This is killing me b/c with my setup right now, i dont want to run all the way up to 6000 or past. How can i go about getting it to shift when i bump it up into 2nd or D? Should i bump it earlier, or let off the gas some?? Thanks
The factory governor in your trans should shift at 5200 rpm give or take a couple of hundred rpm. Check the tv cable adjustment first. Do not use it to tailor shift points. This is not what is there for. Adjust it as per the shop manual and see if it makes a difference.
The 3rd and 4th clutches went out about a year ago, and a local tranny shop rebuilt my 700R4, ever since, i dont think it feels the same. So if the TV cable is out of wack, then it could affect my shift points, I never adjusted it to change my shift points...

It could definately affect your shift points. Some shops do not dissassemble and clean your governor during a refresh. Scratch that, most do not. Most do not install a new governor gear. They should do both without fail. If tv does not fix it, pop out the governor and have a look.
Could you provide me with any instructions on how to check/ or how to reset the TV cable back to factory specs? I have a helms manual, but i cannot find it to save my life, if u cant provide any tips i guess i got to buy a new one
At the end of the tv cable, just behind the throttle bracket, there is a 1/2 moon shaped button. Press this button and hold in while pulling the plastic part of the cable rearward(toward the back bumper). It will slide back 3/4 inch or so. in the rear most position, release the button. Then open the throttle by hand, at the throttle body, to wot. If you did it right, you will hear a clicking noise as the cable is ratcheted back to it's proper position.
