Default Another Header Question..ie AIR Tubes

If one were to purchase a set of Long Tube Headers for an 1988 C4 with and auto tranz...and the headers did not have the AIR tubes, what would the issues be.

I know that a muffler shop could weld somthing up but is it required. Using the AIR eliminator kit works I understand but are there other sensors that would have to be delt with.

Would doing this cause smog problems other than visual checks?

Sorry if I upset the Green Peace people.

Thanks

Dave

My 94 doesnt have them and it apears to run perfectly ok, passed emissions no worries at all. But having said that, i am in Australia, and i am not familiar with your emission requirements.

You dont have any issues to worry about with sensors, AIR delete doesnt throw any codes on your car.

Only function of AIR is to get the cats lit quicker, so passing emissions with a cold engine might be problematic. But, you have to drive to the sniffer so its not a problem.

Dont even give it another thought.

Allow me to second the no code comment. My air pump went away a long time ago. Headers had all the piping which I cut off and had the holes welded up. Then cleaned up the weld both inside and out. Works very well.
