Default Purge/Evap canister delete!! Help...

Seems like I have suddenly sprung a vacuum leak around there somewhere, again causing driveability issues. I can hear it hissing around that area when the engine is running. Lots of old nasty rubber vac hoses everywhere. Found a leak in the cruise control so I in turn took that out as well and sealed the T-fitting. Is it possible to just get rid of this big evap/canister purge thing once and for all? Has anyone here done this? Does anyone have a complete diagram of the vacuum lines of an 89? I don't see complete mapping chart of all vacuum lines in my $200 Helms book... That faster I find this hissing vacuum leak, the better I will feel. TIA.

I think the emissions label under the hood over there on the side of the radiator has a vacuum diagram.

It all faded and some peeled off. Any other sources?

This system recovers gas fumes from the tank. It's a very efficient and effective system, If you remove it a vented fuel cap is needed to keep the tank from pressurizing(sometimes) and when this is done the fumes will escape and stink up your garage. Since the tank is above the exhaust pumping that extra heat into the tank, causing more evaporation, It doesn't make sens to remove it.
