curious to know when during W0T what RPM does the trans automatically shift at when in drive?

what about part throttle shifts too? 1-2,2-3 etc?

My '88 will shift at 5100 @ WOT.

For part throttle shifts, I can make it shift anywhere I want to by varying the gas pedal, but unasissted shifts occur around 2k rpm.

interesting....at what MPH does the part thorttle shifts occur at? mine are 5-6mph from 1-2 and 15-16mph from 2-3 shifts.

full throttle im at 4000rpm 1-2 shift and 3800rpm 2-3 shift. I think my TV cable got pulled or yanked during the new trans install. I doubt its supposed to shift this early?

It is a good idea to be sure the TV cable is adjusted properly, but don't use it to tune your shift characteristics. That should be done at the governor. It would be surprising if a trans shop returned the car with a mis-adjusted cable, but it happens. Messing with the TV cable to attain desired shifting manners can cost you a transmission.

It's really simple to do. I believe the procedure is posted in the Tech Tips section. If not, I'll post it.

On the dragstrip my 1984 shifts at 6000, both 1-2 and 2-3, or 6200. Some times at 5800. It depends on when I move the lever.

My 87 shifts at WOT around 5100 - 5200 rpm. The shifts at partial throttle vary but they seem to occur around 1800 - 2000 rpm or when I let off the gas a little.

DAMN YOU! I shift at 5000rpms and it pulls solid till then. my port job wasn't as extensive as yours CFI,maybe over xmas i can take it off and do some more. Im coming after you!

I adjusted my TV cable to what it was since i noticed it was moved or jerked when i did do the trans instal 2 weeks ago. I adjusted it and it shifts at 9-10mph 1-2 and 21-22mph 2-3 shift and WOT is set to shift at 4500rpms or 4600rpms. It shifts much softer now aswell. was a bit firm before. NOT bad but still firmer than i remember.

Nice, Redeasysport. I never cease to be amazed at how much GOOD information is available on CF if one justs asks, occasional flaming notwithstanding.
