Default which stall should i choose?

Hi my name is mike i have an 85 vette with 385 horse power it has ported heads 2.02 valves, 3 angle valve job, roller rockers and basically everything that could be ported was i also have an 212/218 dual patern comp cam in it i swaped from the doug nash to a beefed up 700r4 and i have a torque converter thats rated between 1800-2200 stall. So i want to know if you guys think thats enough stall for my setup. This may sound stupid but i would also like to know whats the best way to launch with my stall. thanks mike

Mine is a 85 vette too with similer setup as u have and 365 hp at crank and i went with 2800 rpm TC with external cooler and i didn't see any problem but my tranny toasted for some other reason, but i like that stall speed and infact it perfectly matches with my cam dur 224/224 that kicks after 2800 rpm So, it perfectly matches and love that launch, which meets my peak torque at 2800 rpm. But i see your cam dur 212/218 which i assume peak torque at or between 1800-2400 rpm So, my suggestion would be for 2400-2600 rpm TC and not more than that. But please install external tranny cooler with that stall.

If you give your information and are honest with the company like Vigilante they can give exact information as to what stall you should run.
Vigilante ( Pression Industries ) is the best company I have found tfor TQ converters.
They have a 2 year warranty and 1 free stall change.
Launch; just power break the car until the drive train is tight and when the light comes down go.Put the car in drive not OD other wise the converter will not stay locked up if you are in OD.

I'd pin down where yours is stalling. Put your foot in it and watch where the rpms get to before you actually start moving.

If its closer to 2200, let it be.

Vigilantee are some bad-Arz stalls.. My automatic picked up .5 tenths with that being the only change (well, I needed tires after the convertor)

I mean thats like nitrous changes to the ET.
