Default Ground location

Does anybody know where the ground point G201 is located? It looks like it is the main ground for all the interior accessories. I have looked through the Electrical service manual and can not find a location for that point. The door locks have not been working correctly and I thought that would be a good place to start.

I'm not sure if the 88 is the same as my 90 but here's what I found in my helms electrical supplement.

Hope this helps. Also, if the 88 is like the 90 there's a four fuse fuse block behind/under the glovebox that you have to remove the carpeted hush panel on pasenger side and become a contortionist and reach up in there to get to. Guess what? One of them is the power door locks. So, if by "not working properly" you mean they dont work at all then this is where I'd go first.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Thanks, that looks like it will help out a bunch. I will look in that area tomorrow for the ground. The door locks work but they don't fully lock or unlock, they barely move the slider when you hit the button. Sometimes they will work good but not often so I figured maybe a bad ground. When I looked at the ground distribution chart it showed a bunch of things going to that one point.

It may very well be a ground. One other thing to inspect is the sliders themselves. They are just plastic with a felt track of sorts. and they just press on the end of a rod that goes to the lock mechanism. The felt on one of mine was worn out and I believe it was the cause of my blown fuse. When I replaced the fuse I noticed the one side dragging and hanging up. I stumbled across a set of new ones on ebay and replaced them and they glide effortlessly now. Just thought I'd throw that in there. If you haven't checked 'em you may want to look closer and make sure the felt strips on top and bottom look like this new one.

yea, the grounding points are not easy to miss!!! They have huge bundles of wires terminating at them!!!

Remove the carpet and there they are.

Check linkage too - especially if you've had the panel off as it's easy to bend it (well at least it was for me).
