Greetings,
Since I boughty my 86 the control panel for the AC/Heat has acted balky,
It will flash weird number and sometimes stick on a certain degree temp that is never what u want like 90 in the summer, the last few months it won't go to heat at all, sure u can set it to heat and 90 but it blows cold AC even when its 40 outside,
I assume this control unit is bad, I don't wanna buy a used unit off Ebay sure they always say it worked when pulled from the car but how do u really know?

Get hold of Jason at www.vette2vette.com
He said he has someone that will rebuild yours. Just mail it in, he gets it fixed and mails it back. Can't say for sure but I think he mentioned something in the $150 range when I talked with him this summer.

What number is it flashing? I've never had a C4 with Climate Control but in some cars the climate control unit has it's own diagnostic system and can flash trouble codes through the control unit.
This might help narrow the problem down rather than randomly replacing parts. I have a '87 helms at my shop, I'll check tomorrow and see if the climate control system has self diagnostic capabilities.
There are limited self diagnostics for this Year but a problem would be indicated by a flashing LED below the Outside Temp Readout. For an A/C Delco exchange - www.tld-corvette.com

Last year I think it was, it started doing that, the flashing light under the outside temp button,
People on here told me what to do to get it to flash codes but it wouldnt flash codes, another reason I figure this unit is bad.
Thanks,
P.
