Default Bose reciever box removal

On a '90, do I really need to pull the whole upper dash pad to get the reciever box out?

I went in from the bottom by removing the lower kick panel. It was a PITA but it eventually came out and went back in.

There are some good instructions at this site. They also rebuilt my unit and amps.

Good luck!

The "CDM" box is up there! its a little silver box (pass. side), I'd put a new or GOOD rebuilt one back. Just be careful w/ a used one, You dont wanna have to go up there again!

I knew there had to be a "trick" and that if there was, the guys on the Forum would know it

I pulled the lower kick panel and fuse box cover off, but the instructions in the GM Service Manual started with "remove upper dash pad as indicated previously in these instructions". I hate when simple instructions begin with "remove both frame rails".

Thanks, I'll give this a try over the holiday.
