I think I got over my head and need some important info. I last season was running a stock ZZ4 crate engine in my Race prepared C4 with NASA. I wanted to increase the performance for next year, SOOOOO I ordered a Super Ram intake and a name brand Cam [$309]. I told the cam supplier that I wanted to also use 1.6 roller rockers. I assumed that they would only sell me a cam that would work. I'm now not so sure. The cam has a intake lift of 0.576 and a exhaust of 0.571. Will I have enough clearence between pistons and valves with 1.6 rockers and if not will I have enough clearnce with the stock 1.5 rockers????
The cam has a intake lift of 0.576 and a exhaust of 0.571. ALL INFOR MUCH APPRECIATED
Is that spec for a 1.5 or 1.6 rocker? If it's for a 1.5 rocker your lift would be .614 and .609 with a 1.6 rocker. You'll need some HEFTY springs for that much lift.
As above , I believe the spring are going to be youir biggest worry.
Seem to remember others have run .600+ lift with no clearance problem.
The Comp Cams '918 beehive spring seem to be the spring of choice for .600+ lift, fits stock head without machining.
i have that cam... xfi280hr-13 its .576 with 1.6 rockers....its a wicked cam.. i have afr's and got some 8015 springs from afr... i am running kb flattop forged pistons with the two valve reliefs without problems. the reliefs on my pistons are cut kinda deep. so i don't know how well they would work with a regular flattop.
I found out that 0.575 is the lift with the 1.6 roller rockers. Got a education since buying this cam. Would be happy if anyone chimes in with additional infor. Am in the process of tearing down. Also installing a Super Ram. Anyone have a guess to how much HP will be added.
