Can anyone suggest a nice fuel pressure gage to buy? Links would be helpful or stores that carry it. I would like a decent one that has universal adapter so I can use it on all my vehicles. Thanks in advance.
Actron makes decent automotive tools. I did a search for "Actron" on Summit's website (http://www.summitracing.com) and it is pn SUN-CP7818. If all your vehicles have Schrader valves, that should do the trick. You can also get those at most auto parts stores. I have that exact model and it gets the job done just fine. The hose is long enough to rest on your windshield to monitor from the driver's seat.
"The consensus seemed to be 'build one'. I am content to have
purchased the kit I posted about."
I built one and have changed my mind. Go for the Actron. Sears. With that, you can get to Actrons web site and order several different adapters should they be required. I believe they all come with the Ford adapter. The Fords use a one size smaller NPT fitting. Simply a smaller schraeder valve. The Actron also comes with the ability to perform the fuel flow volume check with ease.
As a note, newer fuel systems (not sure about GM) are coming on line with NO schrader valve. You have to "break into" the system, connect adapters, take your reading. More pain.
In summary, the Actron should come with a GM fitting, a Ford fitting, and is able to perform the fuel flow volume test. Oh, you get a plastic bag to store the thing.
