In 1995, there was a transition period from OBDI to OBDII (lets call it OBD1.5)
What scan tool do you use to extract the fault codes from the PCM?
My experience with AutoTap> The AutoTap OBD II program did establish communication with the PCM but could not read the fault codes. The AutoTap was able to “turn off” the Service Engine Soon light though.
if all your looking for is to exract error codes, you can do this yourself. If you have the OBDII style connector, which is what I have on my '95, then just use a short piece of wire and short Pin4 to Pin12, then turn on ignition(but don't start engine, and read the error codes on LCD display where gas gauge normally displays. (short PinA and PinB on your ALDL if you have the OBDI style connector)
