Default lt4 hot cam conversion and n20....

hey guys
hope everyone had a great thanks giving.. i sure as heck did!

ok i know eventually i will be going to a turbo set up... but until i do.
I have a very good friend who is going to sell me his lt4 valve train and hot cam for dirt cheap. he wrecked his car and it was considered totaled.. etc etc

ok now the question
I have all stock internals now. and im spraying a 125 wet shot.
can i put the whole lt4 setup (i will also port the heads too.) and spray the 125 shot? or will this blow out the bottom end.. right now sae corrected i was putting down 380rwhp/513rwtq with n20 and 280/305 NA.

with the lt4 stuff on there im guessing 340-350 ish rwhp NA and alot more with the n2o. can the engine and tranny handle it?

thansk your friend
Sean

I have a 100 shot. Engine rated at 400 HP at flywheel without N2O. I think that is about tops without forged inerts. If you need more power than this I would suggest boring to 383 and forged crank and pistons etc. At some point it gets stupid expensive for one less second in the quarter. The set up I have is low 11's with slicks.
Keeps up with the Mustangs.

"Without" a big hook up from real sticky tires like full slicks, your rear end and tranny "could" last for some time with what power your talking about.....same goes for the stock bottom end if it's in good shape, I know quite a few people with 350 to 380 RWHP, then on top of it running 125 to 150 shots on their stock bottom ends with NO problems(none are running slicks very often though).....as long as you dont detonate it could live for quite a long time, especially if you only use the bottle when you need it, instead of using it for the guy you could have beaten without it, just to put 15 cars on him starting in the next 2 to 3 weeks when my cars done, I should be conservatively in the 370 to 390 RWHP area with an A4......and I will be continuing to run my 125 to 150 shot, till it blows and the 383 goes in.....so mabe we'll find out together how long things last

haha yea.
well i have a dana 44 so not worried botu that.
i have a tranny cooler that i havent installed yet.. for the 4l60e.
eventually i think im gonna go with 4l80e.

im gonna install my dana 44 with 3.73s then my roll bar.
then do the porting and hot cam kit... i already have the rockers.
and then unpgrade the tranny to a beefy 4l80e and then go with the low comp all forged engine.

thanks man this helps.

ne idea what ur car will put down NA with 370 rwhp?
with the n20?

thanks alot your friend

Sounds like a good future combo for ya ...... To be honest with ya, it's all gonna depend on the 60 FT time for quarter mile......since I wont be running a full ET drag type slick right away, but instead a grooved sportsman pro type tire....the possibility of 1.60 to 1.65 60 FT times, are out the window(I think).....more like 1.70plus.......Being conservative I'd say 11.90 to 12.20 on the motor with 390RWHP , and somewhere in the low 11's on both the 125 and 150 shots........I'll post times hopefully in a few weeks
