87 power window ribbon replacement
My 87 Coupe, passenger side door needs a new plastic ribbon for the power window. I believe there is another car out there that uses the same style, but its a little longer perhaps. I know this because the last two times the driver's side was replaced the guys who did it knew this little secret and it cost about $10 less than what other Vette parts stores would charge. I checked Ecklers and MADVette, and neither have the ribbon for the 87(they do for the 84 to 86E).

The last time I replaced one, I bought it off of the "Help" rack at the local auto parts store. I think it was listed to fit some model of a Mopar van.

PS. When you are done, be sure to trim it to length. If you don't, the end of the ribbon can hit the inside of the door, before the window is all the way down. If that happens you might get to remove the trim panel, again, to fix it.
