Shift kits???
Please pardon my stupidity here... but I have only owned 2 Automatics in my life and both were POS, thus I have never had a need for any types of mods on either. Anyway...
Exactly what is a shift kit?
How difficult is it to install?
What exactly does it do?
In a nutshell: a shift kit reduces the time it takes for a trans to shift gears. Makes em quicker. I have a B&M kit in mine. 1-2 shift is almost harsh.. 2-3 is firm. 3-4 noticable but not objectionable. If you do any racing a shift kit is essential. If yours is a daily driver,in traffic Iwould not recommend one. Next time I will pass. There is considerable discussion as to trans wear with a kit. Some say less some say more. I have been running mine for 6 years with no problems.

I have been running a Transgo Shift Kit for 2 years now...no problems...
Transgo offers three options on shift firmness/quickness...I have the "full race" level...yes, around town at part throttle it is somewhat harsh but my car is at the drag strip 90% of the time...
At full throttle the tranny shifts lightining fast with barely any drop in RPM and very smooth, as well...
