I have the same question, both of mine didn't close right but the right one was easy, the pin through the shaft that fits in the plastic slot that moves the shell was broken and I replaced it and it works fine, the other on has the pin and if you cycle the lights it closes well but after driving it it opens up 1/8 inch and you have to cycle the lights to get it fully closed.

The cover can be adjusted to sit flush with the hood by loosening its attachment bolts to the headlamp mounting bracket. The bolts are accessable with the hood open after removing the inside headlamp cover (the cover that's exposed when the headlamps are open).

And where the headlight moves after being closed it's likely that the three gear box bushings are loose and need to be replaced. Or possibly the outside mechanical mechanism is loose.

Thanks, I went to look at it last night and if you read above that the right headlight had a broken/ missing pin in the cross shaft that moves the headlight, well the left had the pin there but it was also broken so the head light was moving on the shaft. Took it apart and fixed it and alls well now.

I have another question though, what tells the motor to stop moving? Is there a sensor that senses that the assembly has hit a position or that it senses that the assembly has hit mechanicial resistance and stops moving?
