Default water temp

I need to know if I can piggy back my wire from the head temp to one of the other temp signals to read water temp. I do not have a provision for temp unit in the head. Thanks. I have an 88

If your '88 doesn't have the booster fan option there is a square plug in the block below #1 & #3 spark plugs. This is the location of the aux fan switch which accompanies the booster fan option.

You can remove that plug and install a temp sensor. I'm not sure if the intake base temp sensor would fit that location but maybe so.

The analog sensor used to drive the gauges is located in the block below #6 & #8 spark plugs. Here I don't think you could parallel the signal to the ECM as well as to the gauges.

I have a 327 in the car. I need another way to get the temp for the gage. I know there are 3 units.
