Default ZF-6 into 85

Just starting this project do I need the Driveshaft and C-beam out of a ZF-6 car to put in my 85? Any helpful tips welcome.

If you do a search on the topic, you'll turn up Central Coaster and his similar conversion.

Yeah, there are quite a few that are doing this at the moment... Central Coaster has completed it.

1st question for ya is, are you pulling an auto or the 4+3 ?

I'm going from a 4+3 to ZF6 in my 85 right now.

You can keep your c-beam, and drive shaft. All you need is the yoke for the zf that goes in the transmission. I can't really help with other problems you might have, I installed a newer engine/pp/clutch at the same time. Central coaster has well documented the process he went through. Do a search of his posts. Randy

It is a 4-3, and I have looked at the posts I could find. I maybe wrong but it looks like yoke for 4-3 should work? Or should I get one from TH400. Thanks for any help.

Front yoke for the 4+3 will not work, you need one from the zf.

yeah, you must have the zf yoke... it doesnt have that spacer that the 4+3 has on it.
