Under section 1, the codes are 72 & 74.
What type of code are these?
Under sect. 4 -
15 - Coolant signal below -56 degrees
26 - Quad Driver # 1
28 - Quad Driver # 3
64 - this one I think was caused when I blew a heater hose.
What are Quad Drivers and which coolant sensor is the code 15 saying is bad or has a bad connection?
Thanks, that tells what a Quad driver is; but not what devices drivers #1 and #3 control. But it atleasts points me in a direction to look, just wish it didn't confrm the my ECM is shot.
If I remember right quad drivers are the ECM.Looks like your ECM bit the big one to me.
Right, but according to the link MikeC4 gave me, it also means I have a short or a bad device that those drivers control.
So, Red for the $64k dollar question; can you tell me what devices those 2 drivers control?
My bet is your ECM is bad but you can try OHMing the wires for shorts.
OOPS, my bad. Forgot all about getting the 28 code before, but in my defence( not much of one), once I replaced the battery; I never got that code again till right after my heater hose broke and now almost everytime I start my car the 'service' light starts flashing.
I am going to clean all my connections this weekend and where is a good place to get another ECM?
Mine is a DD, so I cannot wait to have mine rebuilt.
Thanks Red, even though you helped me make look real DUMB!!
Now that I showed my lack of memory, what are CCM errors 72 and 74?
This might help:
The H means its a history code. The 72 and 74 are codes associated with the dimming circuit. Here's the tech info on it... http://www.corvetteforum.net/c4/dave8476/index4.shtml Here is the simple fix... If "SYS" is displayed in the LCD section of the instrument panel cluster after the customer installs a new stereo, he will need to do the following:
1. Buy (2) 1 kilo-ohm 1/2 Watt resistors. [Radio Shack part # 271-023. They sell them as a 2-pack for 29 cents.]
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the receiver.
4. Connect one end of both resistors to ignition power. (Yellow wire in the car.)
5. Connect the other end of one resistor to the purple/white wire in the car.
6. Connect the other end of the second resistor to the grey/black wire in the car.
7. Cover all connections and completely cover the resistors.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable

I don't have my Helms in front of me right now, but the CCM also senses the "bells and whistles" in additon to the radio. Check to see all your fuses are good. Be sure all your accessories are working ie: dash dimming, courtsey lamps, etc. Maybe someone will jump in with the CCM codes for you. I'm getting up there too.
the code 15 is the coolant temp sensor in the water pump. I was getting that and had Norris replace the sensor. The day I got it back I was still getting the code. Turned out to be the piggyback harness connector in the waterpump. It needed to be replaced and that solved it.
My dimmer works fine and I can't find a blown fuse, but I am going to take my radio out this weekend. So I will clean my connections and see if that helps.
