The tachs on the '90-'96 cars are often off by a couple hundred rpm. If there are no codes, no service engine soon light, and the car otherwise runs fine, I'd say things are fine.

You can scan it and see what the ECM is seeing - Should be +/- 100 RPMs from Targeted in Park/Neutral and/or +/- 50 RPMs in Drive. If idle is greater than these numbers, should be generating a code in the low 500's. Assuming it agrees with your TACH and you get the above, check Coolant Temp and Air Temp Signals cold (should be close to ambient) and that the Coolant Temp Signal is somewhere around the Thermostat at cruise, within range of the fans at idle - a/c off.

Check out this thread. I found what my problem was. Becareful since it is easy to throw money at it and the problem still stays. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...00&forum_id=48

How many miles do you have on yours? Have you checked all the vac lines? Have you looked at the TB? It could be gummed up or worse case the shaft can have alittle wear.

Once you find the problem regardless of what it is, do a follow up post and lets us know what you found.

There are several new threads a week that have some type of idle issues and a follow up post will help them (us) out also.
