My 1995 corvette has the service ASR light on. I took to Chevy Dealer and they first reset and then said it needed a new EBTCM which lists for about $894. Any advice on whether that will fix the problem 100%? Anything else to check before that expense? The car only has 28,000 miles on it. Any advice?
You need to list weather it is a vert or a vett.
If you got water in the rear compartment behind the drivers side then,You need to remove the computer back their and open it up and drain out the water.
I left my top down and the same thing happened to me.
Volkswagon was replacing them for free for a while.
I just dried mine out and put sealent around it 2 years ago and no problem since.
GM wanted $1200.00 for mine in your dreams.
The computer has no seal around it,another Bosch thing not GM.
If they won't warranty it ,I would check out the Bosch site to buy it cheaper just match the numbers on the side.
I got the same answer from my local dealer last week. I must be slow, but I can't tell which item in the compartment is the EBTCM. I can't find a picture of it in the manual or online...
Is it the one with the two relay-looking Bosch plugs on top?
Glad you guys are here, or my poor Vert would be outta luck!
I mean this probably totally different. My Service ASR light came on when my brakes were worn. Replaced brake pads and rotors. LIght went off hasnt come back on. I dont know my car is one of those crazy ***, "maybe i'll let him have a good day, or you know what I dont liek you today" Kinda of deals.
