Default Front end skitter.

What is the best way to eliminate or alleviate front end skitter? Basically when I drive down the highway, I get a lot of jumping from the front end when I hit a bump or crack. I no it's due to the tight suspension, but is there anything that can be done to improve performance.

Thanks

Did you notice the skitter after the lowering kit was installed or have you always had the problem?

What size and brand of tires are you running up front?

How old and what brand are your shocks?

Good luck,
Dino

What's the condition of your:
alignment
shocks
suspension bushings
tire condition
tire pressure

GM attempted to alleviate this condition by putting smaller tires on the front, in the later years of C4 production.

On my 92 lt1 replacing the shocks with used shocks purchased here solved the problem. My old shocks had 153,000 mi. on them. The replacements had 40,000 on them. They seem to last forever .

My 95 with base suspension had the same problem (I bought it in 12/95 with 2300 miles). I replaced the stock Bilsteins with adjustable Konis and virtually eliminated the problem. Bilsteins are generally decent shocks, but IMO, the GM spec valving was designed to make the car ride like an old Caddy.
