Default Help with electrical problems.

Well I just picked up my CE yesterday and I have found two minor problems. 1 When I put the drivers side window down sometimes it does not go back up if I open and close the door it then will go up. I think I have heard this is common. Do I need a new window motor? How much $$$

2 I have the keys that open the door when you get close to the car I just replaced the batteries. But the car does not unlock when I get close nothing happens. Also when I press the unlock button the passenger side unlocks but the drivers side just makes a noise and does nothing. And last the button does not lock the doors at all I don’t know if I am not pressing the button properly.

The drivers side door gets used the most and the cable that goes into the door (you can see it in the door gap when you open the door) gets flexed and eventually one or more wires break from fatigue. This is the most likely cause of your symptoms.

I think it might be the window regulator I think Elkerts carries it .About 135.00 get the frame with it you will be glad you did.
Try to reset your key pad sounds like it is not picking up the signal.
Or check your fusses with a test light and see iff all ot them are good.

Have a look at the link below for a complete run down on the function of the PKE system

If it isnt doing what its meant to then you must have some kind of problem, and id start by seeing how stiff your driver side door lock is.

I just went through trouble shooting my PKE (Power door locks)system in my 93 Ruby. To get at the PKE module I had to remove the dash pad. The module is just below the center air conditioning duct, just behind the drivers information panel. Th eshop manual gives detailed instructions on jumpering 12 volts and ground to different pins on the blue connector.
