Starter Motor or Battery ?
1. It is a new unit with warranty.
2. It is a smaller hi-torque unit.
3. If I plan to put headers on in the future, makes life easier.
4. A rebuild is only as good as the rebuilder. Many times they only fix what is broken and call it rebuilt. To go through one and replace the bushings, brushes, insulate and put it back together right, you may have $150 in it. A NEW starter is not too much more.
That's just me.
EDIT---Plus you can do the solenoid trick and have a spare part should you ever need it again.
