Default Quick CAT Question:

Good afternoon,

I'm getting the exhaust done on my 93, finally, however, the catalytic converter on drivers side has broken to pieces in the pipe. Exhaust place wants to go ahead and gut them out (replacements are currently over the budget), and yes, though I know it's not exactly up to par for the environment, will the vette still run without them in?

I've punched them out in numerous other sports cars with no problems, but the vette has showed me many times that's she's more picky than the others. Anyone know or have thoughts?

Thanks all! And Happy Holiday's!

Finding an exhaust place to do that is pretty rare. The only problem I see is if it has the before & after O2 sensors, the PCM will know they are missing.
Then you would probably need O2 sims, unless you want to live with an SES light until you get the money to replace them.

Also, They both should be done together.

Either option is safer than driving with the bad cats.
YMMV.

Thanks for the input, I gave them a call and their gutting them out now. And yeah, it's rare to find them to do it, I'm pulling a favor big time on this one! Thanks again!
