Re: What made you want a Vette? (blk91)
The sight of the first Sting Ray back in the 60s made me want one. When I sat in an '89 at C&V in Phoenix last Spring I new that I "needed" one, NOW. Within three months I was driving my 35th.

Saw my first vette back in 1971, I was six years old, thought it was a cool car.
Then in 1979, I saw a '58 or '59 go flying by my mom on the parkway, I said, someday I'll have one, but it's got to be just like that one(Red with white coves). Then the C4 came out and I didn't care for it at first, and I was really disappointed because there was to be no '83(that's when I graduated High School). Then the ZR1 came along and I liked the C4 again. Then a couple friends bought vettes and I really got the bug.
I saw a Torch Red '95 sitting on a dealer lot. 3 weeks later it was still there, so I bought it and the rest is Forum History. :seeya

Re: What made you want a Vette? (Mr Mojo)
Well my dad had a bunch of them. He had a 62, 63, 72, 82. The '82 was stolen a week after he bougnt it and he never had one since. I originally had my heart set on an Impala SS (Still do) but when I realized I couldn't afford one, I started looking at 94-97 Z28 Camaros. Then one day I happened to be on eBay and I noticed the '91 with no bids on it and only 2 hours left.
As Mr Mojo said, the rest is forum history. :D

I had many F-bodies. When I got my first corvette (an 84) I was completely taken in by the true racecar orientated way you drive the car. My current car has the look, feel and POWER :D of a race car for the street. There is simply no comparison with other cars for me. I dont care if its a ferrari, lamborghini or whatever. My vette is americas sportscar, and that makes it more special than any imported POS!!!

Re: What made you want a Vette? (blk91)
I was into turbo cars at the time. I had an Eclipse GS-T and was keeping up with Mustangs, Vettes, & IROCs. I would enjoy the look of amazement on their face when they couldn’t pull away from me.
I remember a lot of buzz about the new LT1 vette. I couldn’t wait to race one, I was confident that I could easily keep up.
I found one to race and he handed me my a$$. There wasn’t anything I could do to keep up.
I fell in love with the performance first, and than with the community and history.

Re: What made you want a Vette? (35th)
I use to be into cars in my late teans and early 20's. Got out of it for a while and the time came I needed a second car. I've always liked the C4 look and decided what the heck.

When I was 12, I saw the movie "Corvette Summer". Thought that was the coolest car ever. But I think mine is a lot cooler, BecauseI get to drive it.

Re: What made you want a Vette? (dppeaden)
well the "CORVETTE" name itself is one of the main reasons i was looking at one
then styling is damn near unbeatable (second only to the exotics IMHO)
Performance is better than any car i have owned :D
Heritage of the car and respect from most other owners :seeya
that and they are just cool
