I'm running abour 11.5-11.7:1 on my LT4 heads on crappy 91 octane gas without any issues. You need to have the chambers worked over very well and deburr the pistons to be sure you get rid of any potential hot-spots

That’s a wide open question. There are several key questions that need to be answered first. What are the cam specs? What is the deck height? What head gasket are you running? The LTx platform can run some pretty radical CR with the proper set up. Jeff Creach at Carolina Auto Masters is running in the 13:1's on pump gas with no knock but that is with proper quench and a big cam.

i am intrested in this question as well because when i put in my new cam this year i plan on shaving the heads just a bit and using the impala head gaskets to gain just a bit more compression. im thinking that should put me at about 11.4:1
