Default Cage?

I was thinking about putting a cage in the back of my 94 vette. The only problem is I don't know too much about doing it. My first question is: Will I need to strip the back? Second, What is the average price? Third, how many point's should I have?

Thanks for the help guys.

Dave is a friend. So, I got an exceptional deal that included the install.

Give Dave a call, I'm sure he'll hook you up with a good deal.

First: And the front. A cage has at least two bars that pass through the firewall and weld to the frame near the front suspension.
Second: I can't answer that. Get quotes.
Third: The minimum is 8 points. Ten, twelve, and even fourteen are common.

RACE ON!!!

You should make your choice (roll bar or cage)based on the rulebook of the sanctioning body you intend to race.

Mike, you said your thinking of putting a cage in. Why? For what purpose? If its just for cool looks forget it. It will be a lot more of a pain in the *** for the money your going to spend to do it.

If its for racing, there are certain requirements for each type, for example, solo, or regional racing etc. This includes bar diameter, steel strength, and construction points. You need to check the rules first at their websites. SCCA in the states or CASC in Canada.
Thats what folks are trying to tell you. If your just goofing around in the cones put a nice set of Falken 615's on and have at er.

Do any of you guys know anything about this? That is what I was thinking. Yes I want it for SCCA and not only that I am planning on going to little tali in the next year and it is something I have wanted from the start.

I'm just looking for some bars. Also, any other sway or strut bars for a c4 that you guys recommend. Sorry for all the questions I am a big noob when it comes to corvettes.

How much protection to you think the tires will give your noggin, once you are upside down? Will your sanctioning body accept one in lieu of the other? I can't picture it.

RACE ON!!!

Now, now, now, cfi. Mike, do re-read Canam's and PeteK's posts. If you're going to go racing in/with a particular sanctioning body such as SCCA, you specifically must meet their qualifications. Meeting someone else's will not get you in, and it'll just cost you extra to redo the work. So, you need to read their regs and requirements. Then, you might like to pick up a mag at Borders called GrassRoots Motorsports magazine--great articles and ads. The madvet bar may or may not do much for you, your car or the regs re scca. Good luck.

Mike:
1. type in SCCA on a google search. Go to the rules and regulations for road racing and you will find diagrams et all in there for what you want to do.

2. Type in Dream car garage on a google search. There you will find a C4 buildup that is recent for road and mild track use. It involves brake, suspension and mild engine upgrades that you can read about. This buildup can be found in copys of grassroots motorsports magazine also.

3. Find a great shop in your area that has really mental corvette boys and go talk to them. Establish a relationship with them and get er done. cheers.

....I could go on and on here but this is a good start for you.
