Most large tire stores have a selection of them that they use. They may charge you a few bucks for their time. The Chevy dealer should be able to help also. My locks are in the toolbox, I got tired of digging out the key every time I took off a wheel.

Find a socket that is just smaller then lugnut then hammer it on to the lugnut. A 1" socket worked on my 85.

This technique has always worked for me. My uncle used to buy cars at auction and most of the time if it had wheel locks the key was missing. I used a Craftman's socket because once in a while it would crack and I would just go to my local Sears and get a new one.

SUmmit has a wheel lock remover for about $10, it has reverse threads so it tightens down on the lock as it loosens.

I tried the dealer route, the sevice techs dont want to waster their time.

If you go to a dealer - go through the body shop.

Sears also has an impact set of 3 removers for various sizes, about $30
this is how I got mine off- but still has to use a 3lb hammer to seat the socket on the lock and used a breaker bar with a piece of pipe to take them off.

I dont know what kind of rims the guys using vise grips had but OEM vette rimes on my 86 hould have gotten all chewed up with that technique.

PS - the craftsman kit - says to use an air impact, that might be the case for a perfect fit, but in my case had to use the above mentioned method.

I just got back from Sears twice and they couldn't figure out how to take the lug nuts off. So I guess I'll figure it out myself. Does it take all 3 keys to remove tire so I can rotate them? Also, how do you take the center piece/logo off? I guess I'll need a floor jack and a impact wrench.

Are you interested in saving the locks? Or do you
just want to get them off in the fastest way possible?

Same thing I did on my 84. I didn't lose the key, but stripped out the lug nut. Bought a cheap Harbor Freight socket, got a solid steel hammer, and went to town on it. Came right off.

I went ahead and just replaced all 4 lockers with the regular lug nuts. Didn't like the idea of having to fight with one of these things one day by the side of the road. Yes, there is the possibility of them getting stolen, but that's what insurance is for.

Be careful if you are going to use a chisel. The rims are "soft" and can be destroyed pretty easily.

When I bought my 84 all 4 wheels had wheel locks so I brought the car to Sears and the fellow used an air chisel to remove the locks.

Not only did he remove the locks he mauled all 4 rims. When I looked at the rims I told him not to worry about it, after all I knew I had to restore just about the entire car, may as well replace the rims too.

He pointed has carelessness to the manager and two weeks later I got a check in the mail for $200.00. I bought a stock set of 84 rims, wet sanded them and placed them on my car.
