Hooker Super Comp Headers....
I recieved mine in the mail yesturday and was a little disapointed at their condition. They are very nice, but I suppose I expected a very clean chrome like finish. On the top of one of the pipes there is a noticable scratch and in other areas it seems like the finish is dull, it looks a little black. I dont know what to do, Im not sure if this is normal and theyll be fine. If I think Id get a perfect set back, itd be worth sending back, otherwise they need to go in the car by like sunday.

They're coated alright. And the color and finish is beautiful, it just has alot of imperfections in it it seems.

Mine had imperfections too, but they are nothing compared to the scratches I put in them installing them. :( Not to mention the pounding I did for spark plug clearance!

My brother has Hooker supercomps on his car. I thought the fit and finish was very poor  Not to mention he sent them back 3 times because they kept on rusting  Finally he sent them out to have them jet hot coated at his own expense and they have beeen fine ever since You go figure ?

Mine won't be here 'till the end of the month. :(
Until then I'm running nearly straight pipes from the exhaust manifolds. :(

Re: Hooker Super Comp Headers.... (Warlock)
just installed mine today , fit was good, leftside is easy, rightside is a pain, sound is what a vette should be, the new improved y-pipe doesnt fit it hits trans linkage(auto),had to use stock y -pipe have to send back& call hooker about it,dont worry about scratches youll have more installing them, also if u just hold them in place by hand it looks like they hit everything but when u run the bolts in they clear everything, when u start the car, boy they make it worth it. :D

Hey guys!! I ordered Hooker S.C.'s and they've been on back order forever!! Like 2 months. ( this is for the LT1 ) I have heard of problems with Hookers coating so I ordered them direct through Jet Hot. They get the headers uncoated and hone and coat them inside and out themselves, guys who use their coatings say that it lasts forever. Also, you can get the headers direct through Jet Hot cheaper then you can get Hookers coating on them through Hooker. Good luck!

I've got TPIS L98 longtubes on my LT1.
Air tubes were the only challenge but ended up a piece of cake.
Don't over look these.

88sk,
Did you have problems with the alternator bracket? I have seen posts on this board that say it has to be modified.
