Default Fuel sensor help needed

Since I got my 92 I've had a sticky gas gage so I pulled it out today to try to figure out what was wrong. Well it was very dirty and corroded and in the process I broke one of the little fingers that transfers the resistance between the moving parts, short story is I need a new sensor, or you may call this a sending unit. I called the local auto stores and they say they don't carry it and a call to the chevy dealer says I have to buy the whole filler/ pump/ sender unit which he saus is over $1000 . Anyone know what I should do?

Questions;

Anyone know what years are the same as a 92?

Maybe a Camaro or other GM products have the same sensor?

Anyone know a good junkyard?

Anyone maybe have a working sensor they would sell?

HELP please....

Try to find a local AC Delco auto parts store. There's one here called ABC that sells AC Delco parts way cheaper than the chevy dealer. I havn't priced one for my Vette but the similar pump and float and sender for my S10 was $259 vs. the chevy dealers six hundred something price.
Do a quick Google search for ac delco parts and see what you come up with. Also ebay may be an option. I found this one real quick for $95 buy it now price.
