Default '84 Top question

Well, I finally got a top for my C4. It's an acrylic that I got off ebay, but have a couple questions.

1. I don't have the bolts to hold it on. Gently using some thread-cleaners, it kind of looks like they are metric M8x1.25, does this sound right? I don't want to force them in, so if anyone could advise, I'd really appreciate it. What do the bold-heads look like? Countersunk?

2. Is there some way to adjust this once I get the proper bolts? It doesn't seem like the top would be very secure in the front, being there's just the 2 pins up there. Will it become obvious once I start tightening the rear bolts?

thanks

Joe

Your top should have 4 bolts with Torx heads. There are 2 in the rear and 2 on the front. The front ones should come with the new top and you re-use the 2 on the rear.

Oops! I feel silly for not noticing that! The way the front bolts don't fall out, or stick up made them easy for me to miss.
I didn't have the rear bolts so I bought some M8x1.25 allen head bolts, but as it is, only one of them aligns when trying to bolt it in. I tried loosening the T30 torx bolts that look like they're for adjusting the back of the top, and snapped my socket.

Should it really be such a pain in the butt!? At least the top's pretty tight with only the 3 bolts in, but it does seem to leak a bit.

My weather stripping is pretty bad, so hopefully I can improve things by replacing it.
