Default C4 (84) Electric Seat Help!!

Just purchased a 1984 Cpe. Trying to remove the seats to start restoring the inside. The drivers side (electric) will not move forward or back- thus can't reach the retaining nuts or my beer. Would there be a latch that releases the seat or some other trick that the vette experts know? Also I will be removing the instrument cluster today - how difficult is it to install new LCDs (3) into the cluster and can I use the same outer shell?
thanks

I had the same problem. You need a 13 MM wrench and patience. Took a while, but I was able to get the seat out.

Good luck with the car!

Default Remove seat cushon

There is a wire "latch" that is accessable under the front of the seat that latches the cushon to the hard plastic botton. Take a sdrewdriver and unlatch this by prying down and back towards the rear. Remove bottom cushon and there are 4 bolts that hold the black plastic bottom to the runners. Remove these four bolta and remove the seat after unplugging it from the harness. You can then get at the four nuts that hold the runner to the floor to remove it and repair it.
A temporary fix to move the deat to a position that works for you while you wait for parts to arrive is to remove the clip from the plastic tube that goes to the center motor and slip off the plastic tube and inner cable from the motor. Try turning the inner cable by hand or with an electric drill to move the seat bach or forward to a suitable position where you can reach that beer. This will work if the gear in the track is not striped and even if it is stripped you may be able to move the track enough by hane to get it to catch on a portion that is not stripped and then it will mive.
Hope this helps

Thanks Jerris/Brimis - seat is out - it did take a bit of patience with a 13MM as Brimis. Thanks t2
