If you plan on using these heads with TPI you need a TPI intake made for Vortec heads, I have seen them from scoggin-dickey <sp> and another vendor, the name escapes me right now, probably the same manufacturer.

IF the "regular 4bbl.intake" was designed for use with the Vortec heads, yes.

RACE ON!!!

a regular 4 bbl intake will bolt to vortech heads if your heads are redrilled for the older style intake pattern.

I would not reccommed you do that because the intake ports of the vortechs a placed higher than the intake ports on older style intakes, you would have a step in the path of airflow, for what it would cost you to modify the heads, about 75 bucks from a local machineshop and gasket port match the intake to the heads, proba bly another 50 bucks,
you could easily get the correct intake designed for vortechs.

Just get an intake made for the Vortec heads.

man, you are in a real pickle, i just checked the summit racing catalog and scoggin dickecy, and found nothing.

have you tried checking the dual plane intake from gm performance parts, especifically designed for vortec heads, to see if you have enough clearance? I think there's a high rise version and a lo rise version made for camaros, I could be mistaken though.

The GMPP vortec/fastburn have .25" raised ports. You'll need a manifold to match the port. There's a recent post about someone using the LT4 intake (modded for coolant flow and the distributer).

Get to your nearest dealer for the GM performance parts catalog. When I had my fastburns flow tested, the GMPP single plane intake actually added 5 CFM to the flow after port work.

#12496820 Appears to be lower version of above
