what happens if i remove the heat shield?
i've got a set of ceramic coated hooker headers on my car. sometimes the header collector vibrates against the metal heat shield directly under the drivers seat. coated headers are supose to run cooler.can i remove the heat shield without causing heat problems? thanks, james holley in clovis

They are supposed to keep the heat in the header but you don't want your floorpan to catch on fire. I would weld the sucker down. Be safe and keep it.
