Without a doubt you will not find a better scanner than EASE. It's VERY stable and very user friendly.

If you need help finding it shoot me an IM and I can locate a dealer for you. My buddy that has the 85 vette, uses it and I borrowed it a few times.

Works real nice and is nice software. Tried lots through the years and its by far the more reliable. Nothing is worse than making a run or trying to capture the data and looking down after and its diconnected and you have to tinker with it for 10minutes trying to make it work again to only get the same results.

Just my thoughts.

Here you go, This should help you out. About 1/2 way down the page you can see where it says software screens. You can go there and pick GModb1 at the bottom and it will give you a slide show of the screens and software..

Let me know if you need any more help!

Opps sorry I must have missing the paste command.

Try this:

FYI - EASE works very 'strange' on my 85. Reports codes that DIACOM (very good) and WinALDL (very good) do not report. I've contacted EASE tech support to no avail. Wasted my $$$ on EASE.

Never once had a problem on any of the cars I have scanned with it. Perhaps you have a specific problem with your car - hence the reason the tech people can't seem to pinpoint the cause.

I used to leave mine running on my car the entire day at the track, startups/shutdowns, ect - never once did it loose connection.

Other scanners I tried along through the years - continually had connection and other related freezing problems. But perhaps it was my setup - EASE did a nice job though.

Also, checked my EASE setup on a co-worker's '85 and rendered the same results. Perhaps my EASE is defective. Like I said, Diacom and WinALDL work fine on mine.

If I'm not mistaken, Gordon Killebrew recommends the Diacom Plus.
Anyone know the best place to go for this?

thanks,

I got mine years ago from either Midamerica or Ecklers. In either case check with Rinda Technologies for their distributor list. ...or save yourself some cash and get JoBy's WinALDL. I have it..works good. The cable is easy to make too.

Default scanner

I have a like new OTC monitor 2000 scanner that will not work on my 91 tpi, but would be great for your 85. It will scan 81-89 GM, Ford, Chrys. With my 91 all I get is no data do to baud rate. It looks new some of the orig. connectors are still bubble wraped. will sell cheap If interested. Playday@sbcglobal.net cliffsurfs
