Default EGR return question

I was looking at the new GM High Tech Feb 06 edition and it has a writeup on the new 06 Z06 LS7 and in the article it shows a picture of the engine with the covers off. They also had a engine shot of a new GTO and both have what looks like the EGR system returning into the intake stream before the Trottle body. What is the advange of this if any and would or can we(L-98, LT-1) benefit from such a plumbing change?

I dont know the advantage.I do know my 95 3800 TPI Buick engine has a EGR tube that goes in before the TB at the side, into the plastic intake manifold upper.

I thought they did this because they did not have the egr passages built into the manifold like the older cars.

I can see no benefit into trying to adapt this to the L98 or etc.Its fine where the stocker is at.Most people want to delete the egr systems anyways.

I didn't even realize they had returned to EGR... I thought they had engineered that out with better lobe overlap.
