The LT4 Im looking at purchasing has this option, how reliable is it? Is it a good upgrade over the previous FX3? Does it really make a difference in handling? Cost of Repair? Guess that covers it, thanx. By the way........how do I run spell check now?
Around town, you most likely won't notice any difference in the 3 settings, even going from the extremes of Tour (softest) to Sport (firmest). The faster you go, the better it seems to work. Nothing wrong with it, mind you, but I'd prefer the simpler Z51 or base suspension. F45 does add to a car's resale value, though.
If it ever breaks, look out. The shocks cost over $400 each and the actuators are nearly as much, I think. They must last a long time, though. Oh yeh, one other thing... the older FX3 option used Bilstein shocks which were reprogrammable. You can't do that with the F45's.

Check out your shocks gs633... The F45 Delphi shocks do not have external actuators... They are built in to the lower tube of the shock and cannot be removed, at least I couldn't remove mine...
And he's right about the FX3 being rebuildable from Bilstein, the F45 Delphi shocks don't have that option... And from memory, the rear shocks are around $120/ea for replacement, but the fronts are around $300/ea...
I do like it though, for me on these very rough CA roads, I noticed the difference between settings...
