now that i got your attention, how hard is it to swap in a dana 44. i have the 36 with 2.59 gears and have came across a used 44. Can you get away with only the center portion or do you need the axels as well?
I already have the correct driveshaft.
thanks
To do it with the least amount of work, you will need the drive shaft from a stick shift and the C- Beam .3rd member and the bat wing.Axles,half-shafts are the same, the break cable for the emergency break may be different depending on the year and if you are replacing the whole thing, other wise just change the bat wing and 3 member drive shaft C-beam you are on the road.
There is a great article posted here in Tech Tips. I will be doing the same change, already started, so maybe you could email me and help each other along. Done a lot of tool turning but this will be my first
