So I received my new injectors last night for my new motor and put them in. Today I started her up to break the cam in. Finished that, set the timing and put her wheels on and took her out for a test spin around the block. I turned the corner and decided to give her a little more gas and the wheels spun a bit and she started to take off. When it hit about 2500 RPM the engine started missing and sputering and the check engine light came on. Went back to the garage and hooked the laptop up to her why she was still running and the codes were O2 sensor, knock sensor and the ESC. After I checked the codes I shut the car off and started it up again and decided to go for another spin. Same result as before but it didn't set the knock sensor or ESC codes again.
WinALDL also said that she was running rich. In the garage I can rev it up to 4000 RPM with no problem but on the street I can't get it above 2500 even if I gradually increase the throttle. I haven't driven it with the laptop hooked up to it to capture the data since I don't know what I am looking at in the first place.
Car is an 1985 with 4+3
Current engine configuration
383 ci
Timing set to 6*
Autolight Platinum plugs gapped at 32
30# Ford/Bosch injectors
Gutted MAF
Ported/polished heads
2.02 intake valves
Stock exhaust/smog equiptment
AFPR with 45# pressure
K&N filter/stock lid
I am still using the stock chip since I am not done with the mods yet. I am going to get the 'Do-it-yourself' chip from Alvin when I am in my final configuration.
I have to put on
Stock ported/siamesed plenum
Stock siameased runners upper and lower
Stock siameased/ported/polished intake manifold
The resaon I am going to change the intake later is I want to get a horsepower rating with the stock and then modified to see which works better.
You will run rich with 30# injectors. The chip is probably programmed for 22#ers. Its putting in lots of gas. This can kill the O2 sensor. Turn the FP down low. I dont think it will go low enough to correct for 30#ers.

in addition you should upgrade the unit displacement in the chip to 784 cuibic centimeters.
The latest is I turned down the fuel pressure to 35lbs and the car runs and pulls strong. Still just a little rich but Alvin is gonna help me out with a chip for her. Now I just need to get the half shafts rebuilt and I think the rear main seal is leaking
Had that on the old motor. This is a brand new oil pressure sender. The oil is running out between the inspection plate and the bellhousing. I wish it was the oil pressure switch
