Could someone suggest a cam replacement for a 86-87 that wouldnt upset the ECM. Would a .450/.460 work without having to reprogram the ECM? I am trying to stay away from that. Everything else on the engine is stock.
Being as yours is a MAF system it will be pretty tolerant of changes, like cam. Not sure how much difference there is between the stock cam and the one you are looking at though. Even though a MAF system is pretty flexable where mods are concerned...to eek out all the power a new cam is capable of you'd stil want a custom tune/dyno tune.

Lift is not the determining factor in upsetting the ECM, smog output, or drive ability. Any attempt to guess based on the given information is folly.
How do these two statements work???

Stock...WHAT??? What is an "86/87 engine" Is that iron headed? Roller cammed? How does, "Everything else on the engine is stock." coincide with the term "converted"? JustForFun, is this even a Corvette?

How about posting some more specifics on your engine/intended use. With more info we can make the best recommendations we can.
