Has anyone ever done this mod? Was this done on an LT1?

http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.300.6840

I have a C3 with an LT1 engine and am contamptating this mod but would like to see if anyone has already done to let me know what I can expect. Are there any changes to the computer programming?

Thanks for any feedback…

This was done on a L98 Tuned Port engine. This mod will perk up a TPI set up, but a LT1 is already better in the elevated RPM range in which this mod is trying to improve. Stick with what you have.

That was a '91 corvette with the L98 engine.

[Edit] : Doh! Someone beat me to it!

Man, that price list - If you shopped around, and I don't necessarily mean ebay either - you could almost cut that cost in half.

I did the accel injectors. They went back to Mid America. They did not work.

I was reading Grassroots Motorsports letters section this month.

A reader was bitching (and rightfully so) that the cost of that build up exceeded the price of an early C5, and the C5 was STILL faster.

The entire project cost over $20k... For that matter, the answer from GRM was that of disappointment with the project.

What it tells me is that MAD was the SOLE parts supplier, and that the price was highly influenced by their exceptionally high Corvette Tax. I am afraid this project will do more to HURT the C4 than help it.

Default GRM article

The article that went into GRM should have gone into a Vette magazine...to put it nicely. As a GRM reader, I was looking for some hardcore modifications to make my car faster....not looking to spend $4000 on dress-up and interior parts. That particular article didn't do much more than make the c4 look like a wobbley gold-chain mobile to the owners of other makes. No numbers on the autocross times versus the c5... etc. They started with a L98 car....with the same level of modification to an LT-1, it would have made quite a bit more power (no offense intended to L98 guys). There are parts offered by Mid America like the camber brace that would have made an improvement, but they put a $400 radio in instead. I just don't get it.

To boost my ego, I emailed the editor of GRM. I politely offered to let him use photo's of my buildup and even test my car versus a c5 z06 at no charge to him. I might get beat, but AT LEAST we'd get some good test data that GRM is known for. The reply was they may do something in '07, but it would be a GRM owned car.

As far as im concerned using mid america or any of those corvette catalogue companies, they are just over priced. They rip you of so bad .I cant believe they have the nerve to put some of thier prices as high as they do. I have found the same items in jegs or summit for $100-$300 dollars less!!! And im not kidding. What did that corvette on that show end up making in horspower anyway? I looked at every step and they didnt say. all they said was that they dyno tested it.
