A friend of mine has a goal or running 200 MPH on the salt. Pie in the Sky, if you ask me.
Anyway, does anyone know of a site that has a calculator that shows the HP required to reach that MPH using the weight of the car, drag coefficient, etc.?
I regret being the one to dash his dream, but 'ya gotta do what ya gotta do'.
Yeah, there's a lot more than just HP to find out top speed: coefficient of drag, frontal surface area, gear ratios, and the HP curve are all required to guess top speed. If he's not making enough HP to push himself to the RPM where he makes his peak HP, then you could easily overestimate his top speed.
