Default GM Performance chrome valve covers - opinions?

I just picked up some of these at Auto Zone for $29. They are manufactured by GM Performance......They do feel a tad flimsy...has anybody had any experience with these?

I just yanked some chrome dart valve covers for some cast aluminum ones. the chrome ones looked kinda cheap but what made me change them was the fact that they leaked, no matter what I did. good luck.

i have them too, and love 'em as well.

they're GMPP Proform valve covers, which are a heckuva lot different than a standard, stamped valve cover. the original post must be referring to the ultra cheap, stamped version.

here's the difference between the two types:

Brad, thanks for the link to the web site where I found out that unfortunately those beautiful looking center bolt covers won't fit on my 95 due to clearence issues related to the alternator barcket

We're talking perimeter bolt covers, right?

I saw the ones you have at AutoZone and O'Reilly's and, yep, they seem flimsy, that's why I didn't buy them.

I bought a set of chrome AC DELCO covers which are much thicker for only about 10 or 15 dollars more. If I remember, I got them from Summit. They have CHEVROLET stamped in them and come with baffles on both covers.

They fit without a hitch on my 86.
